Meet Your Teacher

Mr. Andrew and Ward W. at the Fall 2018 Recital

My name is Andrew McCormick (a.k.a. Mr. Andrew), and I am a pianist and teacher with almost two decades of experience working with students of all ages, levels, and musical backgrounds. I was a really shy kid, and music helped me to move out of my comfort zone and accomplish things that I would never have done otherwise. Music has a profound way of transforming people physically, mentally, emotional, and spiritually. I am dedicated to helping others access that transformative power and tap into their own creative potential.

I don't believe that talent is necessary to play the piano.

I do believe that anyone with dedication and practice can make music.

I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in performance summa cum laude from the University of Maine's School of Performing Arts. I am a member of Music Teachers National Association and Maine Music Teachers Association where I recently completed a two-year term as Vice President for Programs. I am currently in the process of completing the requirements to become a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM).

In addition to teaching, I serve as Director of Music and Associate Lay Leader for the First United Methodist Church in Lincoln.

In my spare time, I love learning languages, traveling, reading, and meditation. I'm also actively involved with several peace and justice organizations and often head to Augusta to advocate for issues that I am passionate about.

Thank you for visiting Tune Factory Music Studio. I look forward to making music together soon!

In an effort to support the safety and health of everyone and to help control the spread of COVID-19, all in-person lessons have been cancelled through April 30, 2020.

Andrew is still offering online piano lessons. Please contact the studio for more information. If it is time for your lesson, please click on the Zoom link below to enter the virtual studio's waiting room.
